Congratulations to the Bray Air Display Team winners of ‘Best Event’ at The Irish Tourism Awards 2017.

Bray Air Display Wins ‘Best Festival / Event Experience’ in The Irish Tourism Industry Awards 2017

The Bray Air Display has been named as the winner of the Best Festival / Event Experience (Large) category in the prestigious Irish Tourism Industry Awards.  The awards, which recognise tourism success & innovation, took place on Friday 3rd February 2017 in the Clayton hotel in Dublin. Minister for Tourism Shane Ross TD was on hand to present the Waterford Crystal trophies to winners at a gala event. 14 worthy winners were ultimately selected from approximately 250 entries.


Speaking at the event, Mick Glynn, Bray Air Display Director, said ‘We’re delighted and honoured that the Bray Air Display has been chosen as the winner of the highly respected ‘Best Event’ at this year’s Irish Tourism Industry Awards.’

‘Bray Air Display is Co. Wicklow’s biggest tourism event and it’s great that its significant contribution to Irish tourism is recognised.’

‘We’ve worked hard to ensure that our event provides the best possible experience for visitors and will continue to do so. It’s wonderful that our efforts have been acknowledged in this way.’

‘We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past 12 years. We’re overwhelmed by the love & support shown to us. It’s much appreciated!’

Adjudication on the awards was carried out by an independent panel of experts, chaired by Maurice Pratt, the Chairman of the Uniphar Group and including Noirin Hegarty, Operations Director from Lonely Planet; Philip Browne, Chief Executive of the IRFU; Simon McKeever, Chief Executive, the Irish Exporters’ Association and Marian O’Gorman, Chief Executive, the Kilkenny Group.

About the Bray Air Display

The Bray Air Display is scheduled to take place over two days (July 22nd and 23rd 2017) *subject to licence. The full line-up and events will be released in the coming months.

The Bray Air Display is managed by Bray Summerfest with main sponsorship provided by the Irish Aviation Authority, as well as support from Wicklow County Council & Bray.ie.

The Irish Tourism Industry Awards 2017 awards recognise tourism success & innovation.

The Awards give recognition to and promote people, companies and organisations – overseas and at home – that have made significant contributions to developing, marketing, selling and delivering improved visitor experiences in Ireland and to increasing the number of visitors from overseas.
