Wicklow County Council and Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership have now opened the application process for the Third level Katie Taylor bursary award for 2022.
The Katie Taylor Bursary is a third-level award to support students who excel at sport to complete their college education.
The award of €1,500 per year of college, for a maximum of four years, is open to college students now entering the first year of third level. Students are not required to study a sports-related course but will need to demonstrate their involvement and commitment to sport.
Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr Tommy Annesley, acknowledged the “support a bursary of €6,000 over the course of a college education can give to students, especially in the current financial climate”.
Mr Brian Gleeson, Chief Executive, Wicklow County Council, encouraged students to apply for the bursary and commended the high-quality athletes that have been past recipients of the award.
Further guidelines and the application form can be downloaded from the Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership website at www.wicklowlsp.ie. The closing date for applications is Friday 28th of October 2022.
