The day aims to raise awareness about the importance and impact of yoga on people’s well-being. Yoga therapist Elaine Harris will host the 60-minute free feel-good class. The session has limited participants, which is in line with COVID-19 outdoor gathering guidelines with social distancing measures in place. The class is designed for people of all levels of fitness. It is only open to over 18’s and is weather permitting. Check-in on the day will take place from 9:30 am opposite the bandstand, with the class taking place in the social distance circles (2 people per circle/pod) on Bray seafront. So why not come along and join us… all you need to bring is your own yoga mat, towel, water and an open mind. Read more + register here.

  • A Very Unmerry Showcase – A Black Box Production Bife

  • Bray Institute of Further Education
  • https://bray.ie/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/A-Very-Unmerry-Showcase-–-A-Black-Box-Production-Bife.jpg
  • Black Box productions, a new dynamic wacky theatre company based in Bray are showcasing their new production this December. This exciting new production will take place in Bray Institute of Further Education on Wednesday, 15th and Thursday, 16th December. Doors open at 7.30 and this event is free of charge. Over the last number of months, the 2nd year acting students have devised and produced all aspects of the production from sound, lighting, props, costumes, stage management and marketing and promotion. As they didn’t have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience last year, as you can imagine, they are ready and raring to go! This is a once in a lifetime must-see performance, it is really! The audience can expect a variety/plethora of scenes from the well-known to student’s own material ranging from musical theatre, social commentary, comedy, absurdism to more dystopian scenes, all of which will make for a very entertaining evening. During a period when the arts industry is floundering it is comforting and promising to still be able to see productions of such calibre taking place. Check out their Facebook Page for more information here.

  • After a two-year hiatus the award-winning and hugely popular Bray Air Display* will make a welcome return this summer. And it will be back bigger and better than ever with an incredible lineup including none other than the world-famous Red Arrows. The free, family event is one of the most popular air shows in Europe and Ireland’s biggest air festival, attracting thousands to the Co. Wicklow seaside town to marvel at amazing aerobatics. This year’s event will see the Bray Air Display team up with the Irish Air Corps who are celebrating 100 years of Irish military aviation.Sé Pardy, Bray Air Display Director said, “We are delighted to announce that the 15th Bray Air Display will be back this summer. The 2022 event will be bigger and better than ever – we are thrilled that the masters of the sky, the Red Arrows will be back with us again this year. They always put on a spectacular display so this summer’s event really will be one to look forward to.”General Officer Commanding Air Corps, Brigadier General Rory O’Connor stated, “The Irish Air Corps have always enjoyed displaying for the public at the Bray Air Display, however, this year will be extra special as we celebrate our centenary. We are announcing the return of the Silver Swallows (our PC9M Display team) and several other exciting Air Corps displays. We are also really excited to welcome the RAFs Battle of Britain Memorial Flight to Irish skies. Seeing the iconic and historic Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane fly in formation will be very special and unique. The fact that the Irish Air Corps flew both Hurricanes and Spitfires in the past is a fitting tribute to all those who served in the Air Corps throughout the last century.”The line-up will also include regular Bray visitors, the Royal Jordanian Falcons and an impressive M-346 Leonardo jet.Pardy concluded, “We know that so many have missed the event over the past two years; suffice to say Bray Air Display will not disappoint this July. We’re very excited about the calibre of acts we will have this year and look forward to announcing more acts over the coming months.”As well as the entertainment in the sky there’s plenty of action on the ground; where you can enjoy the thrills and spills of the Seafront Funfair, dine alfresco at our Food Village or even experience a breath-taking helicopter ride over Bray Head throughout the festival weekend, which kicks off on Saturday, July 23rd with the spectacular return of the #BrayAirDisplay on Sunday, July 24th 2022.Looking for an extra special airshow experience this year? Well, what not register your interest in Hospitality at #BrayAirDisplay here.Artisan Events are managing the Food & Craft Village on behalf of Bray Summerfest. • The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be a cultural celebration. There are excellent vantage points for all to get an opportunity to marvel at the strong 1,500 participants as they spectacularly make their way through the town. Again this year, we have teamed up with the Bray Autism Friendly Group and we are delighted to say that there will be a quiet zone at the Parade on the corner of Quinsboro Road and the Carlisle grounds. The Parade Grand Marshall this year is Bray’s Person of the Year’ Dr David Menzies. Dr Menzies is a founding member of Bray Cardiac First responders and a founding member and volunteer with Wicklow Rapid Response. He is also a founder, former Chair and currently Trustee, Board Member and Medical Director of CFR Ireland, a national registered charity for Community First Responders. There will be road closures in place on Thursday, March 17th from 1 pm until after 3 pm to facilitate the new Parade route. Roads affected include Main Street, Florence Road, Eglinton Road, Quinsboro Road, Seymour Road, Seapoint Road, Strand Road and surrounding junctions. • Bray Methodist Church, Florence Road, Bray, County Wicklow
  • https://bray.ie/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/THE-HEIGHTS-by-Lisa-McGee.png
  • This is a Mr. Sands Youth Theatre Bray production, as part of National Theatre Connections 2023. Please note: This production uses strong language and has scenes depicting violence. This is a play about stories. Lillie is a teenager who lives on the Heights Estate. A place where nothing ever happens, except in Lillie’s head. Lillie’s not like most people, definitely not. For starters, she never goes out, but sits in her bedroom window on the sixth floor of her tower block, watching the world and the people in it go by – though sometimes some of those same people enter her world. As she sits, she makes up stories. Some of these stories are sad, some are happy, some are funny, some are just wonderful, and some are just terrible. This story is about Dara, who she watches from her window. It is about their brother Jimmy, and their gang. It’s about a gun they find. It is about Bizzy, who never puts her book down. It is about Fran and Ann, who she can see arguing in the building opposite. It is about Jacob, who no one ever truly knows. But they’re just stories. Aren’t they? Approx Duration: 1hr 10mins (no interval) All tickets €5. Read more here.

  • Wyrd Sisters – a story by Terry Pratchett is a medieval romp as three witches struggle against an evil usurping Duke. They must restore a kind King to the throne. Brought to the stage of Mermaid Arts Centre from Tuesday, April 9th to Saturday, April 13th by the outstanding talent of Square One Theatre Group, this feel-good comedic quest has all the elements of timeless theatre. Parental Guidance recommended (Suggested 13+ due to mild threat content) but is a show that the whole family will love, tweens & teens can laugh at the silly shenanigans while older viewers will appreciate the witty dialogue and Monty Python-esque humour.
