The search is on for Bray’s 2015 Endeavour Awards winners. Bray Chamber has this week launched the 2015 Endeavour Awards which reward the Community, Commercial and Civic Heroes who have made outstanding contributions to Bray over the past 12 months.
First presented in 1981, previous winners have included World Boxing Champion and Gold Olympic Medalist Katie Taylor, Local man Martin Codyre, veteran star of stage and screen Gladys Sheehan, Bray Lions Club and St Fergal’s Community Development, and leading businesses such as Oriflame, Commscope, Ardmore Studios, ATC Language School and many more!
The Endeavour Awards are presented annually by Bray & District Chamber, and is part of the Chamber’s programme of ‘promoting business, and supporting the community’.
Nominations are being invited by Bray Chamber and from members of the public for individuals, groups or businesses in Bray and the surrounding district across a range of categories – from commercial and sporting to cultural and lifetime achievement.
The categories include:

· Lifetime Achievement
· Culture & The Arts
· Civic & Community Endeavour
· Sports Achievement of the Year
· Young Achievers Through Sports
· Retailer of the Year
· Restaurant / Bar of the Year
· Outstanding Small Business
· Outstanding Large Business
· Outstanding Contribution to Tourism
· Open Category
Launching the 34th Annual Endeavour Heroes search, Bray Chamber’s Awards Chairperson Phyl Farrelly said now was the time for everyone to play their part in honouring Bray’s heroes and champions.
“This is the opportunity for everybody in our community to help honour those have shown pride in their field, whether in community, commercial, civic or sporting endeavour. Most importantly, these Awards are unique in that all recipients are nominated by the people of Bray, making the annual Endeavour Awards the premier public accolade that our community can bestow on the great band of heroes we have in our town,” Ms Farrelly commented.
Closing date for receipt of nominations is Thursday 30th April. Nominations can be made by e-mail to info@braychamber.ie. Nominations can also be completed and returned to Chamber of Commerce House, 10 Prince of Wales Tce., Quinsborough Road, Bray. All nominations received will be considered by the Awards Adjudication Panel, with the Awards themselves presented at a Gala Ceremony, including entertainment, to be held at the Royal Hotel on Friday 22nd May 2015. Tickets available from Chamber office at a cost of €50.
