First Responder Groups across Bray Municipal District honoured

The work and commitment of the First Responder Groups across Bray Municipal District were honoured at a reception hosted by Bray MD recently.

Cathaoirleach of Bray Municipal District, Cllr Melanie Corrigan, thanked the first responder groups – Bray Community First Responder Group, Enniskerry Community First Responder Group and Kilmacanogue Community First Responder Group – for their “unfailing commitment in putting people first and acknowledged the impact of first responders on many people lives.”

She said that Cathaoirleach receptions play an important role in enabling the Municipal District to recognise and honour the role of volunteers in working to make our communities a better place to live.

“In my capacity as Cathaoirleach I wish to congratulate and thank you all for your voluntary and often unseen work, responding to all manner of situations for those that need it most in a professional and dignified manner”, Cllr Corrigan stated while also paying tribute to the families of the First Responder volunteers who sacrifice to support volunteers.

District Manager, Lorraine Gallagher, thanked the three first responder groups for their commitment and often unseen work stating: “Supporting the work of volunteers across the County is extremely important and recognising the role and commitment of First Responder groups to our communities is more important than ever. The work of First Responders is often the difference between life and death and has had an impact on people and their families across the Municipal District.”
