The public is invited to join Janos Köhler, an avid member of Bray Wheelers, as he delivers free Bike Repair and Maintenance Workshops this autumn across County Wicklow.

These workshops are supported by the Environmental Awareness Office and aim to champion the principles of the circular economy, encourage and support active travel, promote the numerous physical, mental and environmental benefits of cycling.

Janos has been invited back by Wicklow County Council to deliver practical advice on maintaining your bicycle, and will cover among other things, the industry-standard ‘M check’ safety inspection, bike setup, correct saddle height, changing a puncture, brake, gears and chain care.

  • 28th September – Arklow Recycling Centre, 1 pm – 3 pm
  • 12th October – Bray Recycling Centre, 2 pm – 4 pm

They not only extend the life of bikes, reducing waste but also empower individuals with the skills and knowledge to maintain their bicycles. This fosters a culture of reuse and sustainability, ensuring that resources are utilised to their fullest potential.”

Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council Emer O’Gorman added “Supporting bicycle repair and maintenance workshops are essential for advancing the circular economy. These initiatives besides reducing waste, promote sustainable transport, and build local skills. They help us move towards a more resilient, resource-efficient future, where communities are empowered to make environmentally conscious choices.”
