The retailer will open its first store in Co. Wicklow later this year
Penneys fans in Co. Wicklow and surrounding areas can officially celebrate as the much-loved Irish retailer has announced it will open a new store in Bray. Opening its doors to customers later this year, this will be Penneys’ first location in Wicklow and 38th store in Ireland. The new store will provide a huge boost to the local economy and create a significant number of new jobs for the area.
Penneys Bray will span 19,600 sq. ft of retail space and will be located in the recently opened Bray Central Shopping Centre in the heart of the town. The store will feature Penneys’ famous affordable fashion favourites, with the latest seasonal trends along with everyday essentials across menswear, womenswear, kidswear, beauty, lifestyle, and homeware, including the brand’s ever-growing Primark Cares label.

Penneys, which operates as Primark outside of Ireland, currently has 37 stores in Ireland and 417 stores in total across Europe and the US. The new store in Bray is part of Primark’s commitment to invest over €250 million in Ireland over the next 10 years, which includes the development, relocation and/or refurbishment of its stores across the country. The investment also includes a €75 million state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution facility in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, which is currently under construction.
