Honouring Bagatelle

Bray Municipal District is delighted to celebrate one of Ireland’s most beloved bands, Bagatelle, with a special tribute in the town. On Sunday, September 7th, at 4 pm, a commemorative bench will be unveiled at the base of Bray Head by Cathaoirleach Erica Doyle.

The event will also feature a special visit of a 46A bus, made famous in Bagatelle’s 1980 hit Summer in Dublin, adding an extra touch of nostalgia and excitement for fans.

Bagatelle, known for iconic songs like Leeson Street Lady, have left an enduring mark on Irish music. This bench is a lasting tribute to their legacy and a chance for fans, locals, and visitors alike to pause, reflect, and enjoy the stunning views of Bray while celebrating the music that has become part of Ireland’s soundtrack.

Following the unveiling, the celebrations continue at the Bray Seafront Bandstand with Bagatelle & Friends performing live from 6:30 pm. It promises to be a fantastic afternoon of music, memories, and community spirit—a perfect way to honour a band that has brought joy to generations.

Bray Municipal District is proud to host this event, recognising Bagatelle’s contribution to Irish music and its strong connection to the area. Everyone is invited to join for this special occasion, whether to witness the bench unveiling, enjoy the live music, or see the iconic 46A bus in person.
