This summer, Bray invites you to dive into a whirlwind of family fun as the town kickstarts the season with festivals, events and activities galore throughout June, July, and August, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy. 

The #SummerInBray 2024 line-up promises an unforgettable experience, packed with entertainment, culture, and community spirit. From the enchanting ‘Movies by the Bandstand’ to the serene ‘Yoga Summer Workshop’, the sizzling ‘Beach BBQ Festival’ to the awe-inspiring ‘Bray Air Display’, and everything in between, #SummerInBray promises non-stop excitement. Feel the rhythm with live music on Sunday afternoons, experience the thrill of the ‘Seafront Funfair’, admire the classic beauties at the ‘Chrome Classic Car and Bike Festival’, and join the town in welcoming Bray’s newest festival, the ‘Brave Maeve Family Festival’, where a legend comes to life.

The 2024 summer festivals, events and activities include:

  • Aquathon Series – A multi-sport event that includes a 750m sea swim followed by a 5km run. The first event took place on Wednesday, June 19th, and will continue on Wednesday, July 17th, and Wednesday, August 14th. More information at wicklowtri.com/races/aquathon-series/
  • Hardy Har Comedy Club at the Harbour Bar – Thursday, June 27th, Thursday, July 11th and Thursday, July 18th at 8 pm

  • Sunday Summer Sounds on the Seafront Bandstand – selected dates in June, July, August and early September. See the schedule below.

‘Movies by the bandstand’ Terms & Conditions

  • The ‘Movies by the bandstand’ screenings are a free event
  • All movies will start at 6 pm and 8 pm or 8:30 pm except for Sunday, August 4 as screenings will take place at 3 pm and 5 pm
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather
  • You can bring a blanket, deck chair or camp chair
  • No pets are allowed
  • There’s no alcohol allowed
  • Our ‘Movies by the bandstand’ screenings are age appropriate. The onus is on the parent to decide if the movie is suitable for their child to watch
  • If attending the ‘Movies by the bandstand’ screenings children must be accompanied by an adult
  • The screenings will take place on Bray seafront by the bandstand, please be good to the environment, respect your town, and take everything home with you
  • There is parking throughout the seafront
  • The event team reserves the right to refuse admission
  • Movies by the bandstand’ screenings are weather permitting, if bad weather is forecast, screenings may/will be cancelled
  • Technical issues, glitches or failures are unforeseen. Our event team will try and find a solution. Please be patient and have some respect for our on-the-ground teams. If a solution can’t be found it may result in the screening being cancelled without notice. Unfortunately, sometimes these things happen at outdoor events. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause

Getting to Bray couldn’t be simpler…

Irish RailDublin BusGo-Ahead Ireland on behalf of Transport for Ireland, Bus ÉireannFinnegan’s BrayAircoachSt. Kevin’s Bus Service to Glendalough and the M11 and M50 motorways provide commuter links between Bray and the rest of the country.

Visitors are encouraged, where possible, to use available public transport services as there is limited paid parking available along Bray Seafront. 

Please use the town centre car parking at Herbert Road and Bray Central. Illegal parking causes significant traffic disruption, impacts residents, and can block emergency vehicles. Please plan your journey, park responsibly, arrive early, and stagger return journeys to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

The Bray Air Display returns to Bray Seafront on Saturday, August 3rd 2024. The event kicks off with ground entertainment from 12 noon followed by the airshow from 3 pm. These are approximate times and are subject to change.

As a result of the event, some roads will be closed. With all large-scale national festivals or events like the Bray Air Display, there will be some level of inconvenience and disruption. The road closures are in place to facilitate residents, safe pedestrian flow, public transport, and emergency access for the event. Read more here
